My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Sunkist AKA Cali: Sunkist, also known as Cali, is a 3-year-old mixed-breed dog who originally came to us from the Redlands in 2022. She was adopted and later returned to our care in 2024 because her energy level was a bit too much for the young children in the home. This does not mean Sunkist can’t live with kids—she would do best with slightly older children who are comfortable handling a very energetic dog. Sunkist is a super sweet dog who loves cuddles, affection, and being close to her people. She is incredibly smart and responds well to food-based training. With her high energy level, she would thrive in an active home, ideally with a yard where she can run, play, and burn off energy while also enjoying mental enrichment. She can be selective with other dogs but does well with proper introductions and compatible temperaments. Sunkist was previously an orthopedic case and has since had corrective surgery; she is healing well, and the surgery does not affect her quality of life or ability to enjoy normal activities. With the right mix of structure, activity, and affection, Sunkist is ready to be a loving, energetic companion in her forever home.
