My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Dingo! Dingo is a big-hearted Shepherd Mix who`s all about stretching out his long legs and enjoying some delicious bacon strips! He is a true athlete at heart and would appreciate regular exercise. Dingo may have his quirks as a typical Shepherd, but he thrives on positive encouragement. He dislikes feeling confined or restrained. While he prefers a home without small children (18+) to respect his space, he is a loyal and charming companion to those who understand him. Dingo would appreciate a home with no other dogs or cats. Get ready to fall head over heels for Dingo and his elf-like ears! He`s waiting to bring joy and excitement into your life!

More about this shelter

WHO WE ARE

The Almost Home Humane Society (AHHS) (formerly the Tippecanoe County Humane Society) was founded in 1939 by a group of local animal lovers in Tippecanoe County. Since its beginning more than 60 years ago, the organization has been dedicated to improving the lives of animals in our community.

We are not a government agency, are not affiliated with any national organization, and we are not a United Way Agency. We are an open-admission shelter and we accept all animals in need, regardless of age, health or adoptability. As a local non-profit we exist through the generosity of our community.

MISSION STATEMENT

We, the Almost Home Humane Society (AHHS), care deeply about the comfort and rights of animals and citizens within our area. As such, we strive to enhance the relationship between people and animals through education, to control the pet population through responsible advocacy, and to provide sanctuary for unwanted, lost, and neglected animals.

NON-PROFIT STATUS

The Almost Home Humane Society (AHHS) is an independent, nonprofit agency. We are not funded by any governmental or national animal welfare organization. We are a private, non-profit 501(c) 3 organization dedicated to the prevention of cruelty to animals, relief of suffering among animals and the extension of humane education, and we are governed by a volunteer board of directors.
