My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Let`s talk about Lex, baby/let`s talk about you and he/let`s talk about all the good things and the best things that he brings!

Lex had a difficult first year of life. He came into the shelter all skin and bones, with a fractured leg and suffering acutely from kennel stress. He was emancipated from death row by his foster family and went from a life on the streets, to a life in a cell, to a structured home environment. Lex has dedicated the past six months of his short life to training, discipline, therapy and becoming a proper, polite house dog!

Lex is fully potty trained, muzzle trained and kennel trained! He is looking for an experienced dog owner who will continue training. Lex`s favorite hobbies include: breaking down cardboard boxes, popping bubbles and doing somersaults in big spaces. He prefers toys that he can tear apart fully, so no need to spend extra money on those expensive tough chews. Lex is very friendly and eager to meet other dogs, if they are open to his big personality. Cats, however, are too sneaky and can stress him out.

When Lex grows up, he would love to be a neighborhood watch dog! Nothing goes unnoticed and he has no problem introducing himself to strangers. He doesn`t need much in the way of exercise- while his leg is healed, he will always have a limp and doesn`t mind spending his outdoor time sniffing around. We have spent many months teaching Lex the importance of having a routine and he has thrived off of that. We think he may know how to tell time!

If you are interested in taking part in Lex`s ongoing transformation, feel free to ask any questions! This poor guy has invested a lot of time and energy to self-improve and we want to find someone he can partner with. You can find more on his Instagram page: @adoptme_atl
