My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

When you meet Luna Cherry Blossom, you’ll notice her reserved nature. She won’t rush to your side but will instead quietly observe—or, in some instances, tinker about, nervously avoiding direct interaction. Given time and space, she reveals a tender and playful side. “She has this way of leaning her head into your hand, as if to say, ‘I trust you now,’” a volunteer shared.

For nearly a year, Luna Cherry Blossom has waited, her awkward tendencies making it a bit difficult to connect with potential adopters. But her history reflects a dog with a deep capacity for connection—a dog who simply asks for patience as she adjusts to new people and surroundings. It doesn’t take long for her to become wiggly and sweet with you—even reliant on you.

Within the comforting confines of a home, Luna’s calm, loving personality is likely to shine. She is well past her puppy years, bringing good manners and foundational training skills, but she still loves to play. Whether it’s tug-of-war with her favorite rope toy or the occasional chase after a ball, she’s got a youthful streak that keeps her young at heart.

On and off-leash, Luna consistently shows a softer side with smaller dogs. During one memorable interaction with a chihuahua, Luna loosened up and wagged her tail, her body relaxed and playful. “It was the first time we saw her light up around another dog,” a staff member recalled.

Though Luna lived with children in her previous home, her timid nature suggests that older kids might be a better match. However, anyone—regardless of age—should be respectful of her need for space, gentle handling and time to adjust.

Adopting Luna means understanding her need for decompression and trust. She’s not a take-everywhere, meet-everyone kind of dog, but her loyalty and affection run deep once she bonds with *you.* If you’re looking for a thoughtful, mature dog who will rely on you as much as you rely on them, Luna Cherry Blossom is waiting.
