My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

LOCATION: TOMBALL, TEXAS
DOB: 05/20/2020

Hi! I’m still with my owner right now. I’m looking for a foster (fosters get first option to adopt!). This way the team can get to know me better and get an all clear from the vet. Read my bio below!

Bailey is a stunning Australian Cattle Dog/Heeler/Terrier mix with a vibrant spirit and beautiful markings! Due to her owner's health issues, Bailey is on the lookout for a new home that can provide the care and attention she truly deserves—a place where she can thrive and shine.

Bailey, with her dazzling appearance, does come with a bit of maintenance. She has sensitive skin on her belly and underarms, likely due to a grass allergy. Weekly ear washings are part of her routine, and she's on a mission to shed a few pounds, a goal easily achievable with the right diet and exercise.

She does have a strong prey drive. Cats, ducks, rabbits, and probably squirrels are all on her radar, so small dogs are not recommended as companions. Despite her prey drive, Bailey coexists well with an older dog in her current home. She exhibits some resource guarding tendencies with humans, treats, toys, and food, yet she loves to initiate play with the older dog, making her a potential match for a younger, active male canine companion, with slow introductions being key.

Fence reactivity and leash reactivity to other dogs are part of Bailey's quirks, but she can be redirected. Eager to burn off those holiday pounds, Bailey is a perfect fit for an active family. While she does well with kids and adores the children she's lived with, her exuberance might be a bit overwhelming for younger children, hence a recommended age of 5+.

Bailey is a pro at house, crate, and leash training. She's taken a CGC class and explored agility training, showcasing potential for recall with reinforcement and patience. With her beautiful markings and a heart full of love, Bailey is ready to illuminate a home that can match her energy, appreciate her zest for life, and accommodate her needs and quirks. If you're ready for a dynamic and spirited addition to your family, consider welcoming Bailey—a beautiful bundle of joy who might just be the star you've been searching for!

More about this rescue

To rescue Great Danes from neglect, abuse, and abandonment while providing medical care and individual rehabilitation through our experienced and loving foster home program until we are able to provide each rescued Dane with a qualified, caring, and permanent home that will ensure a good quality of life they deserve.

To assist owners that cannot afford spaying, neutering or heartworm treatment as funds allow while also educating owners on affordable, local spay/neuter clinics, spay/neuter benefits, vaccinations, backyard breeding, behavior, nutrition, and obedience. Additionally, we want to be a link point to other rescues and clubs. Raising awareness around rescues and the Great Dane breed is of great importance to us.

We have been rescuing Great Danes since 2011 and we take pride in the collective love, concern, and dedication we have given to the misunderstood and forgotten Danes. It is our mission to continue to be the voices of the less fortunate Danes and to provide them safety and their birthright to a quality of life filled with love and dignity. You can help us achieve our mission by donating funds, items from our wishlist, items of relevance, your time through volunteering, or by lending your home as a foster.
