Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Happy New Year! My name is Freddie and I am a cute, lemon-colored beagle that is looking for a new home in 2024. I am approx. 5 years old and weigh 25 lbs.- give or take a few lbs. I spent my previous years living outside in a pen in NJ. I was surrendered to Penny Angels a few months ago. While I was in Rescue, I had several seizures and was placed on daily medication to control them: (Phenobarbital). I will probably be on seizure medication for life and will have to follow-up with my new owner’s veterinarian for further instructions.
In December, I was neutered, had dew claws removed, and also had a cherry eye repaired. It took a while for me to get that vet. appt. otherwise I would’ve been available for adoption sooner. I recovered fine from those procedures and now need to start looking for my forever home.
I get along fine with the other dogs in Rescue but can sometimes get a little ‘antsy’ around them. I was the only dog in my pen for many years before coming to Penny Angels, so I wouldn’t mind having you all to myself. I will do my best, though, to adjust to whatever situation is presented to me.
If you have a fenced-in yard, please make sure that it is secure because I will try to run away if given the chance. (I have barreled through some baby gates in Rescue.) If you plan on walking me, please consider using a leash on my collar AND a leash on my harness to keep me secure. (Penny Angels actually recommends it for all new rescued doggies.) I am using a doggie door in Rescue during the day but will need to learn new rules in your home. Do you have room in your heart for me in the New Year?
If you are interested in adopting Freddie, please fill out an application and submit it to Penny Angels Beagle Rescue. His adoption fee is $225, cash or check. The application is available at www.pennyangelsbeaglerescue.com. If your application is approved, you will be contacted by email or phone and then will complete the adoption process at PetSmart in Mays Landing, NJ on Saturday between 11-2 pm. If you have any questions, contact beagler534@comcast.net or emnase@aol.com, or call Penny Angels Beagle Rescue at 609-965-9476. Thank you!
