Mikey has a tragic story with an amazing chapter, will you be his happy ending?
Mikey is a special boy that came to the shelter after being hit by a car. He had a broken vertebrae and was unable to walk, stand or use his back legs but with the help of his rescue team who didn't give up on him, regained full use of his legs. He rehabbed so well he now goes for runs with his foster mom. Mikey is a fun and energetic boy, who doesn't know a stranger!
His past times include playing fetch all day and cuddling with his foster parents and siblings. Mikey currently lives with other dogs and does well with them. However, struggles with social anxiety (who doesn't). Which means Mikey is just a good ole fashioned home body. However, he does like a good peaceful car ride. Mikey does have a high prey drive, which explains his expert ball fetching skills but means he shouldn't be around other small animals.
Mikey is housebroken and crate trained. Loves to play fetch and gnawing on heavy duty chew toys. He does not tear up things that aren’t his. Mikey has a very loud play style that can be a bit worrisome for other dogs, but he takes cues well from other dogs. Mikey also loves kids but can get pretty excited. He also knows sit, wait, and walks well on a leash with a gentle leader.

Additional adoption info
If we all agree that a current Sketchy Mutt might be a good fit, we will bring him to your home and introduce him to your dogs, cats, and human family members. If all goes well and everyone (including your animals) is in agreement, you will start a one-week (minimum) trial adoption. We want you to live day in, day out with the dog to see what it would really be like to bring him into your family. If at any point during the trial adoption you decide its not a good match, the dog goes back to his foster home.
