Salish (pronounced "sei'lish") was found by a homeless gentleman who hand raised her until he was unable to provide the continued medical care needed. she was surrendered to stray no more at that time. Salish is an intrepid little girl fondly nicknamed squish - which has some fun name history below. Salish is the only cat in the house who runs toward danger. if there's a knock on the door a fridge opened, a cabinet to explore, she will be there. she adores humans and other cats, loves tunnel toys, ball tracks, feather wands, and laser pointers. she is a high energy kitten who requires lots of play time and stimulation. once she's tuckered out she'll climb into your lap and sleep like the dead. she makes some very cute sounds of protest if you try to move during her slumber sessions. Salish is named after a coastal tribe in southern British Columbia known for it's beautiful artwork and hunting prowess. during colonization of Vancouver the tribe relocated to Squamish, b.c. which the locals today often call squish.
