My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Dodger is making huge progress in his foster home, really honing his skills and learning quickly.

His part-time foster, who initially got Dodger out of the shelter and now watches him whenever his fosters are out of town, updated us on his progress.

She writes,

Meeting New People:
-Excited to meet new people
-On walks, he will try to say hello to everyone!
-Loves getting pets from everyone, including children!
-If you ask for a sit, he will listen! He would still prefer to be on someone's lap because he loves people that much, but he is easily controllable.

Walking:
-Great on walks; usually an easy walker with a loose leash
-Responds well to commands like "sit" and "stay"
-He's clicker-trained to redirect his attention and is very good about this most of the time!
-His leash training has vastly improved and he walks nicely by your side or slightly in front, checking in frequently (as long as you have treats!). Using a Freedom harness has worked great with him!
-Does great in busy neighborhoods.
-I haven't brought him to a busy patio/restaurant in a while. Now that he's better with groups of people, I imagine this would improve.

Other Dogs/Animals:
-While his selectiveness is still true, it has VASTLY improved! He's had some successful play time with another dog about his size, and many successful sniffs/meeting other dogs.
-He seems to be more interested/curious in other dogs now rather than immediately barking at them.
-He does seem to do better with dogs his size that are calm.
-Does not like dogs who bark at him
-Can pass by dogs with a treat distraction
-Has not been tested with cats; 50/50 with squirrels

Final notes about Dodger:
-LOVES to snuggle. I always joke that he's a living weighted blanket.
-He gets so excited to cuddle that he does little "love nibbles" for a few minutes, but then settles right in. This might be important because I don't want people to think he's trying to bite...I have had zero concerns with him biting."
