My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

You'd never guess Arthur's rough start! Found abandoned in a nightstand, this resilient bunny is incredibly social and sweet, adoring playtime and gentle pets. Arthur has a charmingly assertive side, though. He appreciates his space during meals and litter box time, so a respectful approach is key. This delightful fellow will thrive in a home with an experienced rabbit owner who will cherish his outgoing and unique personality.

Rescued: February 2023

Estimated age upon rescue: 1 year

Personality: Social, attention-seeking, outgoing, playful, and enjoys gentle interaction. He is also communicative about his boundaries.

Ideal Home:

  • Seeking an experienced rabbit adopter who understands rabbit behavior and communication.
  • Will thrive as the only pet in the household.
  • Requires a calm and understanding environment where his space is respected, especially while eating and using his litter box.

If you have the experience to appreciate Arthur's wonderful personality and respect his boundaries, he could be the perfect addition to your loving home!

Their adoption process

Additional adoption info

Our adoption procedure includes a phone interview, home visit, and any necessary education of potential adopters. Our adoption fee is a $150 donation per rabbit. All of our rabbits are spayed/neutered, health checked by rabbit-savvy vets, vaccinated for the RHDV2 virus, and fostered in private homes.

For more information about adoptions, please read our guide to the adoption process or email us: information@longislandrabbitrescue.org

Go meet their pets

We don’t have a physical shelter building. The rabbits are fostered in our homes. If you are interested in any particular bunny (or bunnies), we can make arrangements for you to meet them. If you would like a companion for a bunny you already have, we can arrange for several “meetings” and a bonding session to ensure your bunny will be happy with his/her new mate!
