Opal is a sweet tripod girl that loves to be around her people. Her favorite things are dog toys, bones, laying on the couch and going for walks. Opal came from a property with three other hounds whose owner surrendered them because they were not good hunters.
She is a one year old, Treeing Walker Coonhound mix and weighs 45 pounds. Opal is the best of both worlds, she can go on long walks and be a couch potato too. Opal lives with other dogs and cats in her foster home; she does well with both of them. There are no kids in her foster home, but she has been good with kids in public. Opal is house trained, but not a fan of the crate. Opal had one of her back legs amputated due to a hip issue. She is getting around very well! This wonderful girl is a gem and will make a great addition to most any family!
If you are interested in adopting Opal, please submit an inquiry directly with Greater Charlotte SPCA by visiting charlottespca.org/adopt.
***Because our rescue is composed entirely of volunteers, local applications will take precedence. We will accept out of town applications, but any family is responsible for coming to Charlotte to complete a meet and greet. All out of town applicants will also have to be willing to drive to Charlotte to meet/pick up the pet as soon as they are approved to adopt.***
