Check out our sister brand, Kinship, for vet chat, a nutrition calculator, basic obedience training, and (much) more. So you're never flying solo in this pet parenting thing.

Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Athena is one of the prettiest girls to grace our rescue. A two year old North Carolina native, Athena was found as a country stray and brought to County Animal Control.
Upon arrival, the shelter vet noted a no joke spatter pattern of scars across her back that suggests human malfeasance, possibly burns. When we thought we had seen it all, we hadn’t seen this.
Athena joined our Connecticut rescue earlier this year, and we were immediately smitten. This lovely lady navigated the rescue process with ease. Whatever she has survived in the past has not put a damper on her sunny disposition. She is extremely affectionate, and would make an outstanding family dog. Athena loves people and could easily live happily with older kids. Her gentle, loving nature is on full display. She definitely wears her heart on her sleeve.
Athena is a medium sized Black and Tan Coonhound at just 40 pounds. She is active, but does not have an over-the-top energy level. She requires a couple of leisurely, "smell the roses" daily walks, but then is content to rest or take a nap. She would do well in a family setting, or with a single adult, or retired folks. Athena will be happy as long as she is loved.
Athena loves other dogs and has become a superstar in our Hound House playgroup. She easily could join a multi-dog home with other friendly dogs, but we have not had her around cats.
Athena has good house manners, and is house trained and crate trained. Adopters should expect to troubleshoot the occasional accident that will inevitably occur during her transition to a new home. She has been spayed, and has received routine vaccinations and health screenings.
If you are interested in Athena, please write to Angelsfrgod@aol.com or call or text Denise at 860-908-9738 for more info.
