Smokey!

Smokey is a 5 year old pit bull type dog who came to us on 12/23/2023 after he showed up as a stray on someone's property. We found out pretty quickly that he was actually dumped by someone who did not want him. It seems that he has been bounced around quite a few times. In spite of this he's still a friendly and happy guy. He loves to play fetch and frisbee. He has been fully vetted and microchipped and his fee is $150.

We have put together a little of Smokey's backstory. He did live with other dogs here and there, BUT does prefer to be the only critter in the home. A quiet and somewhat calm home would be great for him. He would do best in an adult only home but teens are okay. He's very strong and does need some work on leash walking, but would make a loyal companion for someone.

NOTE:  Adoptions are done via private appointment once an application has been completed and approved. Applications can be submitted at our website, mchs.rescuegroups.org.

We are located at 101 22nd St. SE in Austin, right next to the airport. It's exit 180B off of I-90, right off of 218 South.

We do require that potential adopters be at least 21 years old and that any resident dogs be up to date on vaccinations, heartworm testing/preventative, and spayed or neutered.
