If you are looking for a constant companion, you found him! Sammy will gladly go everywhere with you, he loves his people. Sammy is 13 years old and there is no slowing this guy down. Walks, car rides, pets, he is ready!
Age: 13.5 Years
Breed: Eskimo/Jack Russell
Weight: ~20 pounds
Kid-Friendly: Yes, he isn't with kids in his foster home but they don't think there would be any issues as long as they are respectable and don't pick him up
Dogs: Yes
Cats: He is not with any cats in his foster home but his foster thinks he would do fine with cats
Crate Trained: Yes he is crate trained but he is house trained and isn't kenneled at his foster home
Leash trained: He loves walks and does zigzag quite a bit. When something grabs his attention, he likes to investigate it. He is so happy and excited when he sees the leash come out
Potty Trained: Yes, he has been left alone up to 9 hours
Challenges: He is very easy going, no real challenges as long as there are slow intros to new people
Treats: Loves them but you have to give them to him with an open palm so he doesn't grab your fingers
Health Concerns: No health concerns, he is taking a daily Glucosamine chew treat for his joint health. He coughs when excited, his foster uses a harness when going on walks so there is no unnecessary pressure on his neck and this has lessened his coughing
Adoption Fee: $375
As a rescue, we provide the care, procedures and testing that is available to us. Adopters will be responsible for continued preventatives, follow-up appointments, and medications (if applicable). At times, adopters will be responsible for procedures not completed in rescue (dentals, bloodwork, etc.) Your new dog will receive their rabies and distemper vaccine and if able, a microchip. $50 discount for seniors (65+) and veterans. Adoption fees help pay for the dog's veterinary exam, vaccinations (rabies and distemper) HW test, a microchip, and spay/neuter if needed and additional health needs specific to each animal. Grey Face Rescue does not adopt outside of Minnesota for now. We apologize for the inconvenience. We do not adopt animals to families whose current pets are not up-to-date on vaccinations or not altered. Exceptions may be made for medical reasons as stated by a veterinarian and we will require proof of that recommendation. Thank you for understanding our mission to reduce overpopulation. Once you submit your application, our adoption manager will be in touch, so please check your spam folder if you do not see something from us within 7-10 days. Thank you again for your interest in a Grey Face senior. We appreciate your support!
