Sugar was brought in to Indianapolis Animal Care Services after a report was made about severe neglect. She weighed 25 pounds, had two different parasites, missing fur, multiple benign tumors, infected cuts, and extremely starved. Sugar needed to leave the shelter ASAP in order to survive, lucky for her a foster stepped up and she was able to leave in less than a week. Sugar has thrived in her foster home, but it is time for her to find her forever home! Here is what her foster mom has to say about her:
“Sugar is such a sweet girl that loves to be close to you. I call her my little shadow because no matter what you are doing, she wants to be right there making sure you don’t need any help. She does not like it when other dogs get in her face, so she would need another patient dog or to be the only dog in your home. She does love to play outside and both chase you and be chased. She loves to go on walks so that she is able to sniff around and feel the sunshine on her fur. She loves to lounge in the sun and soak it all up in her white fur. She does love to cuddle and craves attention, so she would make an excellent companion while watching a movie or TV show.”
Sugar is around 5 years old and weighs 50 pounds. She is crate trained, potty trained, dog selective, UTD on all vaccines and preventatives, and does not have reactions to squirrels on walks so she could be cat friendly. She does know sit, come, and off but is also food motivated so she could learn more with time. She is a pocket pitty and does not jump for attention so while she has not met children she is most likely kid friendly.

We started out fighting for our baby boy, Lucci, who was killed due to Airport Animal Emergi-Center Clinic's breed prejudice. When he was killed, we make a promise that no bully would be left behind. Now we try to save as many bullies as we can!
