Meet Ginger, a 1-1/2 yr old Patterdale Terrier mix (we think) who weighs in at approx 35 lbs and is not big at all. She is a sweet pup that had a very hard first part of her life. Ginger's journey with us began 6 months ago when she was abandoned while hugely pregnant at a lake area, where she gave birth under a thorn bush to 8 puppies when she was only a puppy herself. We were able to trap her and she then proved to be an excellent young mother, caring for her babies with dedication. Now that her pups have found their homes, Ginger is ready to find her own forever family. With her high energy and playful nature, she will bring joy and excitement to any household. Ginger has also completed our STAR Inmate Training Program where she learned basic obedience skills. She will need a patient person to give her time to bond, but once she does, she will be a loyal and loving companion. Ginger also does best with another dog in the home which makes her feel more comfortable and gives her a playmate for her energy! Ginger is eager to share her love and enthusiasm for life with a family that will give her the forever home she deserves.
