My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Good day, I'm Yami, known for my handsome good looks and smoldering baby blues. What makes me stand out is I perform a "happy" bouncy dance for the volunteer walkers before they take me out for a walk and to play. It works because they are always happy after my dance. It's magical.
Like most huskies, I'm smart, friendly, but shy, good disposition, and affectionate. I enjoy snuggling, pets, kisses, going on walks, playing with toys and snacks. I walk well on a leash and know basic commands like sit, down, wait, and heel, but I'm sure with love, structure and guidance I can learn a
lot more. The volunteers have been working with me on my manner and I have improved a great deal. I'm compatible with other dogs, but am dog selective. If you have a dog, you can bring it to visit me to see if we can be friends. I'm afraid I'm not a fan of cats or other small animals. I'm compatible with well-behaved older kids and would thrive with an active, loving family that has the time to provide me with both physical and mental stimulation. I know I can bring joy and happiness to your family. Please come see for yourself. I'll do my "happy" dance for you.
My adoption fee of $150 means I'll come to you neutered, microchipped and up-to-date on all my vaccinations. Please visit www.hsnb.org to fill out an adoption interest application and set-up a date.

Additional adoption info

We test animals for the following:

Dogs: Good with other dogs, possibly cats, food aggression, walks on leash, noting any other attributes we may know.

Cats: Good with other cats, litter box trained, noting any other attributes we may know.

We cannot test if any animal is good with children. We may know if an animal is possibly house trained, but cannot guarantee any animal in the shelter is house trained. We do not know if a dog is good with cats unless we are advised by a person surrendering the animal. We may have an idea of this depending on how the dog reacts to our community cats that live on the property.

Please visit our website for current fees, and to find out about adoption specials! (The website link is at the top and bottom of this page)
