Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Meet Si!
We just pulled this sweet boy from a high kill shelter in California. We will update his profile as we take more pictures and learn more about him, but this is what we know so far.
This boy loves other dogs! He would absolutely love it you already had another dog in the home (or to be adopted with one of his husky friends that we pulled from the shelter at the same time).
He is a sweet boy, but he is fairly timid. He is initially afraid when interacting, but he enjoys the love once he has a chance to settle. We are working on his training and confidence in order to help him come out of his shell, but his next owner will need to go slow and continue to build him up.
Si is going to be on the small size. He is currently at 22 pounds and already has his permanent teeth. We estimate he will continue to put on weight now that he is in a better environment, but we cannot guarantee how big he will be.
Our number one priority is keeping dogs in loving homes and not seeing them bounce between places. This is why we will be providing a 5 week training class (through our trainer) with his adoption.
Please do your research on the breed prior to submitting an application. Although huskies are amazing, they are a working breed. They need to be mentally and physically fulfilled. They can be destructive escape artists if they are not being properly cared for. It doesn't seem like this would be an issue for Si at this point, but we still want our adopters to be aware of the typical needs of this breed.
