Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Meet Steve!
***Please see our Instagram: @runningdogrescue and Steve highlight button for more pictures and videos of him***
Who is looking for a running or canicross partner?! What about bike/skijoring?! This pup is looking to be your new adventure partner! His foster has been running him, and she states that he has the perfect leash tension. He isn't out of control/dragging, but there is just the right amount. Plus it is consistently there despite changing speeds. He has already grown to be incredibly in tune and adjusts accordingly.
We are estimating Steve to be approximately 1 years old. As you can see, he gets along really well with other pups and adores playing with his buddy Pat (also adoptable). We do not know how he would do with smaller dogs (<15 pounds), but he was too curious about our cats so do not recommend a home with small critters which is pretty typical for the breed.
He does vocalize and bark for a minute when food is outside his kennel (we do require dogs to be fed separately to prevent any issues) but settles quickly and is otherwise a fairly quiet boy in his kennel.
He has not had any accidents while with us, but as with all new dogs we would keep an extra eye on him while he adjusts to your space and figures out where he needs to relieve himself.
Our number one priority is keeping dogs in loving homes and not seeing them bounce between places. This is why we will be providing a 5 week training class (through our trainer) with his adoption.
Please do your research on the breed prior to submitting an application. Although huskies are amazing, they are a working breed. They need to be mentally and physically fulfilled. They can be destructive escape artists if they are not being properly cared for.
