My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hi everyone! My name is Jet, my foster Aunt named me bc I'm fast and jet black. I'm a really bark-some guy who loves everyone.

My foster Dad found me off the highway late one night when he was driving Lyft. He told me he had to help because I was so skinny and was limping and looked so sad. He gave me cheeze its and stood by me and pet me and said he was taking me home. That was the best food and news in soooo long.

I have a whole backyard to run around in or lay in the sun. I also get to have my own shed with heat and ac and lights, it's really nice when it's super hot or cold.

I'm only 1.5 and gaining weight and getting stronger considering I was on the streets for a long time.

I love going on long walks where I get to sniff and have fun and get belly rubs.

I'll chew on things if they're left out and is why I want a brother or sister to play with and humans that are home.

My foster and I play tug of war and chase until he runs out of juice. I can run faster than him but not the cat who rules the house. She even jumped nine feet across the room!! I've tried to play but she thinks I'm too big and will go hide.

My foster is even paying for training lessons and my first two days at school we learned lots. Getting treats sure makes it more fun. I'm pretty good with sit and down and even roll over & I'm trying hard.

I'm learning how to be a member of the family pack. I would like a home with another dog so we can play together and hang out when my family is gone.
If my new home has kids they probably need to be 7 and up simply bc I'm strong and big and can bump my foster dad sometimes when I'm playing.

I am young and learning to respect boundaries. My foster family corrects me with a "no sir. Sometimes I pretend I can't hear them, but my foster doesn't give up!

I am working on my house training. When my foster Dad has to go to work I stay out back with a bed and the shed with heat/ac and a radio on so I don't go to the bathroom wherever and have more fun. However, when given free rein of the entire house, I do leave little "packages in other rooms.

I get super excited every time someone comes over. All I want to do is say hello and get love and petting.

The only thing I need to complete my perfect life is a forever home. If you would like to meet me please contact this pawsome group!. I'd sure love to meet you!

Jet is participating in The Love Pit's iRehome program, so ongoing care and custody are provided by their foster. All behavior and medical information is provided by their caretaker, and TLP encourages all adopters to verify the information with their caretaker prior to adoption.

Additional adoption info

Adopting from The Love Pit means gaining a family member. It means gaining a network of pit bull advocates, ready to support you and provide you with all of the resources we can. Most importantly, adopting from The Love Pit saves lives. When you adopt, you're saving the life of your own dog, opening space in their foster home for another shelter dog in need, and creating space in the shelter kennel for a dog whose life would have otherwise been on the line. Your thanks for all the good you've done? Lots of love and pit bull kisses to enjoy for years to come.

Go meet their pets

We have monthly adoption events at different locations in Dallas and Fort Worth which are announced on our social media pages and will also be posted on our website.

We will also set up an appointment with you to meet the dog of your choosing.
