Hi! My name is Max! I'm a super lovey guy and would love to become part of your family!
Being outside and adventuring is one of my favorite things. I walk pretty well on a leash, but sometimes need a little direction. My foster mom says I like to chase cars a little bit so we're working on that. Right now the UPS truck looks like a big brown chew toy so I still get really excited over that. My redirection has gotten a lot better though.
At my foster home, I have 2 foster brothers that I play with. I do well with other dogs with proper introduction. I get a little scared with dogs bigger than me, so it takes me time and patience to get used to them. My current best friend is 6lbs. We play a lot. I love to play rope too! I'm a chewer (but only my toys. Your shoes are safe with me ). I need toys that are essentially indestructible. My record for total annihilation of a tennis ball is about 3 seconds.
I am completely house and crate trained. I have not had any accidents and I'm pretty proud of that. My foster mom says I'm the sweetest boy and will lean in for all the scratches. I do well on a tie out, but a fenced yard where I can run my heart out is really what my heart desires. I would need a taller fence though, because you should see my hops. They're impressive.
Even though I am a full adult, I still get really excited. It's probably best I not live with little kids. I forget my stout body can knock them over. I would love some bigger kids to play with though!
I like to eat my dinner in my kennel where I can enjoy it by myself. My foster mom can take my bowl, but I don't really like when other dogs try to steal my food. I get a little growly over it. When I see my foster mom get my food, I'll run to my Kennel and wait with my tail wagging.
I need a decent amount of walking, because lets face it, a bod such as this need a little upkeep!
I would do best in a home with no cats. I like to chase them, because they have nine lives and I only get to live once! I would do well as the only dog, but would also do well with some pals to play with after a slow introduction. I listen to commands and I will boop you hand with my nose to 'check in' with you. It let's you know that I see you and hear you.
I am neutered, up-to-date on rabies/bordetella/distemper vaccines, and am microchipped. I can't wait to become a part of your family and love you for a the rest of my days!

Lucky Paws Midwest's goal is to work with animal shelters, animal control facilities, rescues and individuals all across the U.S. to help place at risk animals into foster homes and eventually permanent homes.
Since we do not currently have a shelter, all animals are placed in foster homes. The majority of our foster homes reside in Western Wisconsin, but we are willing to work with people all over the country!
