My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Adoptable in: MA

Good with dogs: Yes, after proper intros

Good with cats: No
Good with kids: Older children only (16+)
Crate trained: Yes
House trained: Yes

Allow me to introduce myself! My name is Felix Pie (although my foster mom keeps calling me Good Boy so maybe that’s my name?) and I am almost 3 years old. I am a shepherd/husky mix and I have the coolest eyes this side of the Mississippi. Like most dogs, I love peanut butter and belly rubs, but my favorite activity is laying in the sun and rolling around in the grass.

I love going on walks and currently try to walk at least 2 miles per day to make sure I am tired enough to curl up at my foster mom’s feet while she works all day. We are currently looking into professional certifications in napping because I am an all star when it comes to snoozing.

Like most working dog breeds, I thrive best in an environment that provides structure, mental stimulation, and reinforces boundaries. I like it when the humans in my life show me that they are in charge because it makes me feel taken care of and I know I don’t have to worry about anything because they will advocate for me out in the world.

I am fully house trained and crate trained, although sometimes I like to hit you with the sad eye smolder if you try to put me in my crate. I’ll even try to sing you the song of my people to see if that will woo you into taking me with you on whatever adventure you are leaving for without me, but my foster mom knows it’s all a ruse and I will settle after a few minutes. I know all of my basic commands (sit, down, stay) and am even working on a few fun ones (like middle where I run and sit between your legs!) because I am such a smart boy.

I am hoping to find a single-family home with an active, confident adopter who has prior breed experience or who has previously owned dogs and is open to continuing my training in adoption so I can show off my best self.

Okay I think that’s it for now. Like, follow, and subscribe for more. Or just write an email to our Adoptions team! They can help you get connected with my agent to set up time for a meeting.

Please Note: All dogs are posted until they are officially adopted. This dog may have other interested adopters in line. If you are interested in adopting, please fill out an application on our website at www.lasthopek9.org.

More about this rescue

Our mission at Last Hope K9 Rescue is to save every possible dog we can from being euthanized within high-volume kill shelters throughout the U.S.

As the literal “last hope” of nearly every animal we serve, we work tirelessly to place each one within a stable, loving environment that can act as either their forever home, or the gateway to their forever home. We also strive to ensure that all of our adoptions and foster placements are the optimal fit for everyone involved, including our dogs. This leads to our second goal: enriching human lives through canine companionship. To us, you can’t have one without the other.

Lastly, we promote animal welfare by lobbying important initiatives that both protect and give voice to the voiceless. By fostering an environment of collaboration with other organizations that share our goals, and working together instead of in competition, we find that we accomplish more.
