Meet Carlos Valdes, a resilient 7-year-old, 13.4-pound, male/neutered Chihuahua with a heart as big as his journey. Carlos faced adversity when he arrived at the Oakland Shelter in August 2023 with a severe eye injury. Determined to ensure his recovery, Carlos underwent extended care, allowing him to heal from this unfortunate incident.

In early December 2023, Carlos found his way to Chihuahua Rescue Truckee Meadows, where his treatment continued. Miraculously, his eye has recovered, and the hair around it is making a comeback. While the full return of the hair is uncertain, don't let this detail deter you from considering this sweet, gentle boy.

Carlos, weighing in at 13 pounds of pure joy, is ready for a home of his very own. Current on vaccinations and microchipped, he's emerged from extensive treatment with resilience and a spirit that's sure to warm your heart. If you're looking for a companion who embodies strength and sweetness, consider making Carlos a part of your family.
