I'm Riggs, a fluffy Great Pyrenees mix with a heart full of love and a natural instinct to protect the ones I call family. I’ve lived with children and dogs before and done well with both. However, I might thrive best as the only dog in my forever home because, when I bond with another dog, I tend to want to protect them from others I don’t know. It’s just part of who I am—true to my Pyrenees roots, I’m a loyal guardian for those I care about.
I’m a smart boy who knows sit, stay, paw, kennel, and down, and I love learning because treats are the best! Walks, running outside, and playing fetch are some of my favorite activities, especially when there’s a ball involved. I also take treats super gently, earning me the title of “gentleman treat-taker.”
Because of my protective instincts and independent nature, I’ll need a home with someone experienced with Great Pyrenees or similar breeds. You’ll understand how much I thrive with clear boundaries, patient guidance, and a family I can look out for. Walk-ins are welcome at the shelter Friday, Saturday or Sunday 12-5pm. If you submit an application ahead of time we will send you a link to sign up for an appointment Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday, Saturday or Sunday.
