My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Nova, the Samoyed mix! This gal came to the Shelter with her friend “Ella” after their previous guardian could no longer care for her. Nova could be adopted with her sister but could also be adopted separately as well.
Nova recently went on a sleepover with a volunteer and we received the following report: “Nova and I spent a couple of days together and had a great time. She loved our neighborhood walks and going to the beach! She met several dogs and was friendly with them all. It was nice to see her sweet and playful personality emerge as she started to relax away from the shelter. I was worried that she might miss her sister Ella (also available to adopt at the shelter), but she seemed very happy and relaxed. She slept quietly through the night and overall was a great houseguest!” Nova would do well in a home with an active adopter who will provide daily mental and physical stimulation. Nova is not recommended to be left in a fenced in yard alone as she is skilled in getting above and/or below the fence to go find adventure. A home with another pup to play with may be a great fit for her. Nova has lived with children previously. A home without cats is recommended as they are a bit too fun for Nova to chase!

Come on in to meet your new BFF today at 1001 Rodriguez Street, Santa Cruz from 11-6pm. All adoptions are first come, first serve in person at the Shelter, and must be completed before 4:45pm.
