My personality

My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Jack has been bounced around A LOT in his young life. We think he is the best most handsome boy EVER. If you want to give this energetic pup a chance at forever, keep reading!

Jack, formerly known as Kip, is a Tails dog who thought he found his forever. Unfortunately, Jack and his cat sibling are not getting along, so Jack is on the hunt for a forever family who will love him unconditionally. Jack has A LOT of energy and needs to have a fenced in yard so he can run and play. He is dog friendly, child friendly, and crate/potty trained. Jack is well trained and loves showing off his tricks, especially sit and shake! Jack doesn’t chew on items or furniture. He really is the best boy! Jack LOVES his people and doesn’t like to be alone, so he would thrive in a home where someone is around to keep him company often. He enjoys snuggling, receiving butt scratches, and giving kisses. Jack is so handsome and a ton of fun to be around! Jack would love to have a family who will take him on hiking adventures and then give him the best scratches while you snuggle on the couch!
Jack has been known to chase cat siblings, so he’d prefer a home without a cats (we are hopeful that with appropriate exercise this behavior will go away). He can also be choosy with other dogs he gets a long great with some but is a little uncertain with others. He has shown no aggression towards people.
If you want to adopt Jack please find us on FB OR on our website tailsoftheforgottepaws.org and fill out an application!

Their adoption process

1.

Submit Application

We do thorough legal background checks and call all references, landlords etc. Do not leave anything blank or we cannot process your app.

2.

Interview

We discuss the adoption and at this time answer any questions applicants may have

3.

Approve Application

If all checked out we then send approvals via email and adopters then can reserve with a deposit or set up a meet in greet if applicable.

4.

Sign Adoption Contract

We have a legally binding contract that must be signed before you can take your fur kid home.

Additional adoption info

Our adoption process is fairly simple as long as apps are filled out correctly and fully and all checks out. We do screen with a background check program and call vet references and personal references. If any of this is left blank we cannot and will not process applications. Meet and greets are set up after an applicant is approved. At that time if they wish to adopt then we have a legally binding contract that must be signed prior to taking pet home.

Adoption application

Go meet their pets

Meets are available with an approved application, then this is set up. We have adoption events twice a month in Illinois, Elgin area, and this is always advertised in advance on our fb page. We do not do open adoptions so if attending our events with intentions to adopt please have your application put in prior to each event. People are welcome always to come hold and meet some of the dogs and puppies :)
