Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Stitch was found starving and running loose near Huntsville's High School. His foster mom has a relative who works in HPD dispatch who contacted her when this boy was picked up. Stitch was very thin, dehydrated, and lethargic, but a super sweet cuddler. It was clear he'd been on his own for a while but that has not discouraged his love of people and life. Stitch is now doing much better, though since he is a pittie, we believe he has some skin allergies that are clearing up with medicated baths and a flea, & heartworm preventative that is known to help with Demadex just in case.
Because of his time on the street and his unknown history before that, it was a struggle to housetrain poor Stitch and he still is ravenous when it comes to food. He now seems to be doing much better about housetraining but will definitely need patience and a consistent schedule in his forever home. Stitch can be excitable in public and pull on the leash but with his strong food motivation, training should be a cinch for this smart boy. He is good with other dogs and cats and has shown no interest in the chickens, ducks, and turkeys during a visit to one of the board member's house. He is a quiet boy and does well in his crate and in the car. He would likely do better with older children due to his size and excitability. We think his ears are the cutest and don't know why this sweet boy has had no interest!
Stitch is neutered, up to date on vaccinations and monthly preventatives, is heartworm negative and has been microchipped. He is ready to go home! Are you his person??

More about this rescue
We are a volunteer-run nonprofit dog rescue in Huntsville, TX. Our organization is named for a rescue Papillon who belonged to the president of the board before passing away in August 2021. Dot and the other heart-dogs we've lost have inspired us to help address the pet-homelessness problem in Texas. Our focus is an adoption program and would like to eventually expand to financial assistance for spaying & neutering in our community.
