Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Rocky was found by a lady at the local dog park while animal control was off duty so an HPD officer took him to dispatch. He was so incredibly well behaved and cared for that they really thought he belonged to someone, but he was not microchipped and no owner could be found. He is an active young boy with a whole lot of energy. He is very toy driven and loves playing fetch and tug of war or rough housing and running with the other dogs. He is friendly toward cats and wants to play with them so we would recommend only dog-savvy cats for this boy. Because of his high energy, he may accidently be too rough for small children, though he might be a fit with older children who could handle his exuberance.
Once playtime is over, Rocky is ready for some attention and belly rubs! He is housetrained and kennel trained but would benefit from continued obedience training since he can get excitable and pull on the leash. He is up to date on vaccinations, monthly preventatives, and he is neutered and microchipped. This fun-loving boy is ready to go home so help us find his people! Please reach out to us to arrange a meet and greet with his foster mom!
9/28/24: Still no interest in this boy! We will be reducing his adoption fee from $350 to $175 to try to get this long term foster pup into his forever home faster! He is a smart, sweet, playful dog that deserves a good home. Black dogs and pitties are hard to find homes for because no one wants them! Can you see past his appearance to the perfect friend within??? Adopt Rocky!

More about this rescue
We are a volunteer-run nonprofit dog rescue in Huntsville, TX. Our organization is named for a rescue Papillon who belonged to the president of the board before passing away in August 2021. Dot and the other heart-dogs we've lost have inspired us to help address the pet-homelessness problem in Texas. Our focus is an adoption program and would like to eventually expand to financial assistance for spaying & neutering in our community.
