Duke was born in September of 2019. He is now 4yo. He ended up in a high kill shelter in LA and luckily (or not) was adopted by a man who lived in an apartment. When the pandemic struck, Duke ended up quarantining with his new owner. Duke was well cared for but was not around people much. When his owner returned to work, he sadly dumped Duke back to the shelter. He was then adopted by another family in October of 2021. After the new owner lost his job, he took a new job in Seattle and could not take him along. Duke was surrendered for the 3rd time. We are hoping that someone will open their hearts and home to Duke as his forever family this time around.
He loves to play catch and is crate trained. He is neutered, microchipped & vaccinated.
He is pretty calm and quiet but he can also be protective so it’s probably not a good idea to put him in a home with small children but rather someone who understands and loves this type of breed, is a good handler and is experienced. Cats compatibility unknown but the dog does not seem to have a high prey drive.
And he does better with female dogs than male dogs. So dog parks will not be a good option for him. He would also enjoy having some yard space to lounge at, with 5ft minimum fencing.
