Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Lanie
Breed: Catahoula/Dane Mix
Age: 3 Year +/-
Weight: 64 lbs
Medical: Up-To Up-To-Date on Vaccinations, microchipped, Spayed
Cat Friendly: No
Dog Friendly: Yes
Kid Friendly: Ages 10+
House Trained: Yes
Crate Trained: Yes
Location: Connecticut
Lanie is a big, muscular gal who needs a lot of people and a fenced yard in her life. She would be happy having lots of people home with her at various times of the day and/or people who take her everywhere they go. She has resting "sad-face" but I don't think she's actually sad. (She also has a white snout but she's still young, don't let that fool you) She is sort of stoic and independent minded, although she's gotten more friendly and snuggly since she has been here.
She is good with other dogs and has no on-leash reactivity to them when on walks. She is very squirrel reactive and will chase them. She has escape artist tendencies and can jump over a four-foot fence, dig under a fence, and even jump through a window screen to get outside. (Why? I think it's because she's bored or sees squirrels. She doesn't go far, but she does want to see what's on the other side.) She does ok on walks, although she does seem uncertain on the leash. She likes to chew on Nyla-bones and other durable toys.

Once your application has been received and reviewed, you will be contacted via email or phone by one of our volunteers. After your application is approved, the foster parent for the dog you have selected will contact you to answer any questions you may have and determine if that dog is a good match for your family.
If you have no particular dog in mind, we will be happy to keep your application on file and notify you if the right dog should come into rescue. Catahoula Rescue of New England is an all-volunteer group. Dogs in our program are fostered by volunteers. The foster homes care for our dogs as if they were their own. All dogs have received vaccinations appropriate to age and are spayed or neutered.
Lanie’s adoption donation is $450 which includes Rabies, DHLPP, Bordetella, fecal test, heartworm test, is on preventative, microchip and neuter depending on age at time of adoption. If the dog is too young for a spay/neuter then they will be adopted with a spay/neuter contract and deposit. We do not have a physical shelter; all our dogs are fostered in individual foster homes across the New England and Canada.

Additional adoption info
We have a written application followed by a phone interview. If the applicant is approved past this point then we check 2 personal references as well as their vet reference. If they rent we speak with their landlord as well. If all is well at this point then we do a home check. The final step is a meet and greet where the adopter and the household, including dogs travel to meet the new adoptive dog. If all goes well they can adopt. There is an adoption contract and the adoption fee ranges between $200-400 depending on the fees that we put into the particular dog.

We support local "ma & pa" business before the big box chains since many of us come from some communities. We also attended fairs and "meet & greet" events.
