Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Meet Marjoram, affectionately known as "Marj," a delightful 4-year-old Australian Shepherd hailing from Peconic, New York. Though rooted in Peconic, Marj is ready to embark on new adventures and is open to finding her forever home wherever it may be.
Playful, loving, and full of zest, Marj is the ideal companion for those who enjoy long walks and quality time with their furry friend. Her love for exploration extends to a must-have fenced-in backyard, where she may showcase her strong prey instinct by keeping the area free of bunnies and rodents. Car rides are a breeze for Marj, making her an excellent travel companion.
Having briefly resided in bustling Brooklyn for a month, Marj adapted seamlessly to city life. She frequented Prospect Park, relished daily walks, and found joy sitting outside cafes and coffee shops, proving her versatility and adaptability.
Marj's affections extend to her favorite octopus stuffie, bones, and treats. Her happiness is evident when she's on the move, going on walks, or simply enjoying the outdoors in a secure backyard.
Marj is best suited to be the only pet in her household, given her high prey drive, which may not align well with cats. Additionally, she has exhibited challenges in getting along with other dogs, although there is a possibility of compatibility with a male companion. Proper and thorough introductions are imperative to ensure a harmonious relationship.
This resilient canine has triumphed over past hip surgeries and is now fully healed. Although she has experienced seizures, Marj is currently under investigation to determine their cause and she hasn't had a seizure in some time after stopping a tick medication which may have been the cause. She is up to date on vaccines, spayed, and microchipped.
Marj is a sweet and energetic companion who thrives in a home with a fenced-in yard or with someone dedicated to taking her on regular, fulfilling walks. If you're ready to welcome Marj into your life, contact us directly at adopt@joyfulpets.com for more information on this charming Australian Shepherd.
