Tori is a female Pekingese with beautiful black fur. She is 3 years old and weighs 12.8 lbs. Tori is house trained, and walks well on a leash, but needs a well-fitting harness because she can slip out of a harness unexpectedly. She rides in the car well and sleeps well through the night in her bed after a short period of adjustment. She will protest crating vocally, then settles. She does exhibit some separation anxiety and will try to follow you out the door, but celebrates your return. She is currently in a foster home with others dogs, who she gets along fine with. She is sometimes a little protective over her toy “babies” so if her adopter has another dog, they need to be mindful of this and patiently help her work through this. Tori came from a hoarding situation. She was timid at first, but warmed up quickly and is now trusting. She loves adults and being with her people. She will follow from room to room just wanting to be near and freely shows affection while melting you with those brown eyes, she seems to understand every word. She enjoys sitting and cuddling with her person, loves all attention and will entertain with squeaky toys. She does have a strong prey drive and can’t be in a home with cats or other small pets. Tori is not a big barker, but will join in with others. She has not been around small kids while with our rescue. She requires someone who is going to be devoted to daily brushing and regular grooming to keep shedding and matting to a minimum. If you are not familiar with the Pekingese breed, please educate yourself before applying to adopt Tori. If you live in the Central Florida/Orlando area, and believe you have the perfect forever home for Tori, please complete her application and tell us more about you.
