My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

The first thing you'll notice about Latte are her gorgeous eyes, which are large, expressive and looking right at you! Latte is sweet and affectionate, but is shy and wary of strangers. However, once she gets comfortable, she loves to snuggle with you under a cozy blanket or by your feet at night.

She also loves to play. Latte's favourite is the wand toy. Latte is very much a one person cat; once she has her favourite, she'll come to you for scratches and pets, and reward you with gentle purrs or little meows.

Latte would like a quiet home without much coming and going so she can be herself and come out of her shell. It can take a while to gain her trust but it's so worth it when you do.

Submit Application

Before submitting an application, we ask that you review the information on cat care and our policies here: https://www.vokra.ca/adopt

2.
Interview

Our adoption counsellors focus on educating our adopters on cat care. Once approved, they use a matching process to find your perfect pet.

3.
Meet the Pet

When you find a kitty you like, you will arrange an appointment with the foster home - where the kitty feels most comfortable and confident.

4.
Sign Adoption Contract

Our adoptions contract process includes reviewing critical cat care information and providing contacts for post-adoption advice.

5.
Take the Pet Home

Woo hoo! You will be expected to take the kitty to a free post-adoption vet check within 2 weeks, and follow up on any required vet care.

Additional adoption info

Each year more than 1,400 cats and kittens are adopted through VOKRA. We're always here after the adoption if you need ongoing advice.

Response times can vary, depending on the time of year and available volunteer resources. Applications and help requests for non-emergency issues will usually receive a response in 1-3 days.
