Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Meet Ellie! She is around a year old and 45 lbs. She is spayed, up to date on vaccinations and preventatives, heartworm negative, and microchipped.
Ellie came to us from a local shelter. She was found as a stray, incredibly emaciated, with nearly every bone showing. She was just over 20 lbs and so weak she couldn't even hold her head up. She had collapsed at some point and laid for so long she had terrible pressure sores on her hip and shoulder. Her foster rushed to pick her up from the shelter and spent weeks diligently feeding her multiple small meals each day to ensure she gained back her weight and avoid complications from refeeding syndrome. Her foster family tended to her wounds and made sure she slowly got the exercise she needed. Ellie has made an incredible recovery and she is ready to find her forever home!
Ellie currently lives with other dogs and small children and does well with everyone! She knows no strangers and every human she meets is her new best friend. She loves other dogs but can be overstimulating for some dogs, so slow introductions will be best. Her current foster siblings are very tolerant but they are seasoned foster siblings, so they know the drill. She thinks every dog should love her as much as she already loves them! We're unsure how she may be with cats but given her excitement about other dogs, she may be too much for her feline friends.
This beauty is house and kennel trained. She has been working on her basic commands and would do well with a family that can help her keep learning. She has done amazing with recall and leash training and would make a great walking buddy.
Ellie is very sweet and affectionate and would make a great addition to any dog-loving family! We are hoping Santa is reading all his letters because Ellie already wrote one asking for her forever home this Christmas!
