My personality

My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Check out Holly Berry, and let’s get this girl home by the holidays!!

The Good:
- Sweet as pie
- Professional goofball – guaranteed to make you laugh
- Boundless energy (she’s always ready for an adventure!)
- Cuddle monster – she’s an expert in snuggling
- Social butterfly – loves meeting new friends
- Confidence Level: 100
- Eager to please (she’s got a heart of gold!)
- Professional fetch dog

The Not Perfect:
- Thinks chain-link fences are just a suggestion
- Can be assertive and overwhelming to some dogs
- Her size and enthusiasm is too much for children and cats
- She’ll hold your hand… with her mouth. (It’s a thing, we don’t know, it makes her happy.)

The Story:
Holly Berry’s story is one of survival, hope, and the longing for a family to call her own. Just over a year ago, she was moments away from being put down in a shelter in Texas. Saved just in time, she moved from a cramped shelter to a spacious outdoor pen—one that was meant to be temporary. But that temporary space has stretched on, and Holly is still waiting for the one
thing she craves most: a real home.

This sweet girl is full of love, and she has so much to give. Holly adores every person she meets, always ready for a cuddle and never turning down a belly rub.
Beneath her beautiful exterior lies a sharp mind—she’s already mastered fetch, and with the right guidance, she’ll continue to learn and thrive. Holly is eager to please and, more than anything, she just wants to be loved.

She deserves so much more than the confines of a pen. Holly dreams of a (high fenced) yard, a lap to curl up in, and a person who will cherish her forever. Will you be the one to give her the home she’s been waiting for?

Holly Berry (Holly) is estimated to be around 1.5 years old, and is 54 pounds. She is currently in Texas, but once adopted, will be transported to the NJ area.

More about this rescue

Friends for Life Animal Rescue is a non-profit, 501(c)3, volunteer-run, foster-based Rescue (no facility).

Our focus is to save the lives of dogs and puppies in high-kill shelters in the south and local owner surrenders.

Our mission is to place unwanted and in-danger animals in homes, regardless of age or breed. To educate the public and help stop animal cruelty and neglect.

We don't discriminate against potential adopters on any basis or for any reason. We approve potential adopters if they are and the animal they applied for is a good fit.
