Events run from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM every month at these locations:
Please visit the GCGSR Rescue Page for specific address information.
Adoption Fee: $0.00 (Fospice)
Nolan is a 2 year old Tripod who came to us last December. We are looking for a permanent 'fospice' home for him, which means he remains a GCGSR dog and we pay his expenses. Nolan loves to play with other dogs, but in March he began limping badly on his front left leg. X-rays show that he has bi-lateral elbow dysplasia. That leg has swollen to double it's size and has now atrophied where it is now stiff. When it's really bothering him, he'll hobble on two legs. You can see in the video, that that leg is very stiff and used more like a crutch.
Nolan does best with another dog in the home, as he becomes very insecure without one. He pesters the other dogs to play and doesn't know when to stop, which causes that leg to swell. If the other dog doesn't play a lot and respectfully let's him know, he may stay calmer.
Nolan is housebroken and does well inside. He's affectionate and a nice boy. He doesn't require long walks. If you are interested in doing a fospice for Nolan, please submit our Adoption Questionnaire form specifying your interest in him as a fospice dog.
Cats and small critters unknown.

Additional Adoption Information
For more information and to see when this dog will be attending an Adoption Day, please see our Dogs page on our main website. (https://www.gcgsr.org/adopt_info.html) We operate within a reasonable driving distance from the Greater Sacramento area, the Central Valley down to Merced, and Lake Tahoe. A reasonable driving distance is determined by where one of our volunteers is willing to drive within our areas of service. That means we don't adopt out of our area, to Southern California, or out of state.
Puppy Requirements
We have special Requirements for Adopting a Puppy and a separate Puppy Questionnaire that must be completed on puppies. Please see our Requirements for Adopting a Puppy (https://www.gcgsr.org/puppies.html) email us at info@gcgsr.org for more information.
