My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.

Please contact info@petadoptionservices.org for more information about this pet.

Current on vaccinations, neutered, and microchipped. Current on flea preventative and heartworm preventative.

This pet adoption has additional requirements and considerations due to breed and age:

  • For a puppy under 6 months old, please note that we are looking for homes where someone is home frequently, or that arrangements have been made for someone to come home at least once during the day to allow the dog to go out for a potty break. Puppies should remain socialized to other dogs in their formative stages, so homes that can provide exposure to fully vaccinated and healthy well-behaved adult dogs is strongly preferred.
  • A fenced yard is required due to this puppy's age and need for further vaccinations prior to being exposed to areas where stray dogs may have access.
  • The breed of this puppy is not known, therefore a mix of what is considered restricted breeds by homeowners insurance, landlords, and military housing may be present, and may become obvious in appearance as the puppy matures into adulthood. If this is a concern, please consider a more mature dog where the appearance of the breed is more obvious.
  •  It is the applicant's responsibility to know the terms of their homeowner's insurance prior to applying.
  • Due to unknown breeding, this puppy may be more or less than the estimated weight range listed here. Interested families should be open to a varied weight range, and consider both in terms of housing restrictions and personal preference.
  • Landlords may have breed and weight restrictions. It is the responsibility of renters to have spoken with their landlord and reviewed their lease agreement and to have this information available for the application.

*Local adoptions (within 1 hour of New Orleans). We do NOT ship animals. Home check is required, therefore, we will be delivering this dog to your home.

Their adoption process

Additional adoption info

The average adoption fee for dogs is $150, though some adoption fees may be occasionally lower or a bit higher. All animals offered for adoption are spayed or neutered, heartworm negative or undergoing treatment, up to date on vaccinations, treated for intestinal parasites, and microchipped. In addition to completing an adoption contract, potential adopters should be prepared to agree to a veterinarian reference check and home visit. A valid drivers license or state I.D. card is required. This simple yet thorough screening process allows us to place the right animal in your committed, loving home.

Go meet their pets

Because each of our rescues lives in the home of one of our fosterparents, arrangements will be made for the adopter to meet the pet in which they are interested. Also, PAS holds a monthly adoption day at the Petsmart on Veterans Blvd in Metairie.

More about this rescue

Pet Adoption Services, Inc. is a non-profit all breed cat and dog rescue organization in New Orleans. Supported by over 20 volunteer members, Pet Adoption Services was founded in 1996, although some of our members have been involved in rescue for over 20 years. Our mission is to secure loving permanent homes for homeless, abandoned or abused cats and dogs of all breeds. While awaiting adoption, our animals live in the homes of one of our foster parents. During this time the animals receive any necessary veterinary care, including but not limited to, vaccinations, spaying or neutering and heartworm treatment. Our experienced foster parents continually assess each pet's personality and temperament allowing us to place adoptable cats and dogs in just the right permanent home. Pet Adoption Services participates in adoption days during which time, potential adopters get the opportunity to meet and spend time with the animals in a "real life" situation.
