Check out our sister brand, Kinship, for vet chat, a nutrition calculator, basic obedience training, and (much) more. So you're never flying solo in this pet parenting thing.
Hi there, my name is Comet and I am a one-year old Australian Cattle Dog mix. My white hair and red freckles make me quite the handsome fella! And I`ve always got a smile on my face!
I was surrendered to the shelter as a tiny 3-month-old puppy with my two siblings, and we were all lucky enough to be adopted. Sadly, I was returned to the shelter a few months later due to landlord issues, as I grew too big for my apartment. So now I am patiently waiting for my true forever family to come and adopt me again, and I have faith this will happen.
I am house trained and very smart. I hope you`re ready for some playtime and teaching me new tricks! I love being active and going on adventures, but I also have a quiet and affectionate side once I am done exercising. My favorite thing is to be your best friend and and go on hikes and walks with you.
I would love to meet any dogs you may already have before going home with them. So bring your family and other dogs to have a meet and greet with me.
I am fixed, up to date on vaccines, microchipped and ready to go home with you, so please come visit me!!
If you`re looking for a devoted and happy companion who will fill your days with love and laughter, I am your guy! Come meet me and see for yourself just how special I am. I can`t wait to find my perfect match and be part of a loving family.
Please call between 10am-4pm to schedule an appointment to meet me, love Comet. phone 928-282-4679

More about this shelter
Our Vision - Be Our Heart & Voice
Building a caring community where every adoptable and treatable pet finds a life-long loving home.
Our Mission
The Humane Society of Sedona is a non-profit organization dedicated to improving the lives of pets in our community and beyond. The Society has served the Verde Valley since 1966.
The Linda and Allan Brecher Center for Animals at the society is designed to allow every person, who desires the love of a pet, to adopt and provide a forever loving home. The Center provides quality care and positive reinforcement behavior training for adoptable pets. Passionate volunteers help walk and socialize the pets in our care. Foster pet parents are an important part of caring for pets outside the Center.
The Society provides vital services for pets and people alike through income-based affordable spay/neuter surgeries and vaccination clinics. Also, for families in need to feed their pets, we have a Pet Food Program.
Another public resource is our adult and youth educational programs.
The Society relies on community support, contributions, grants, bequests, investments, proceeds from the Society’s thrift stores and some fees for service in order to save pets’ lives.
