Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Danica!
35 lb - Dog & cat friendly- medium energy-expert cuddler
Hi, I'm Danica! I am a sweet natured, 6 month old petite Pittie/Boxer mix. I am a parvo survivor! After bouncing back very quickly from fighting for my life with parvo, I settled into foster care where I soon learned what it was like to be loved, cozy, and feeling good. I'm fostered with other dogs, big and small, and also cats. I play wonderfully with my foster brothers who are my size, and I'm respectful of my big foster brother, who is an old man who just likes to relax. I'm curious about the cats in my foster home. They are old, and my foster mom thinks I would be better suited for a home with young/playful cats who don't mind wrestling with me from time to time.
My foster mom thinks that I am one of the easiest fosters she's had in recent years. I am very calm for a puppy! I am crate trained, 90 percent housebroken (I was bounced around from someone's home to animal control to the vet to foster care, so I'm perfecting my housebreaking and should be at 100 percent in no time), quiet and sleep through the night. I love playing with toys and aside from carrying around my foster mom's slippers, I'm non-destructive.
I have the sweetest temperament and I'm the type who loves to cuddle, will crawl in your lap, and would love to sleep next to you at night. I'm not currently fostered with kids, but my foster mom thinks that I could make a really nice family dog as I'm currently 35 pounds and not overbearing in size or attitude. I would love a home with a doggie companion to play with and learn from. A fenced yard would be ideal.
A generous donor sent me a doggie DNA test, and I came back Pit Bull Terrier, American Staffordshire terrier, and Boxer. Based on my size right now I'm not likely to become a big dog.
The rescue has taken care of all of my parvo treatment and vetting - they had me spayed, vaccinated (distemper/parvo, rabies, lepto, bordetella), microchipped, dewormed, & heartworm tested- I’m negative and currently on heartworm and flea/tick prevention. My adoption fee is $475.
If we sound like a match, please head over to www.heathersfosterdogs.org, click on "Adoption Application” and fill out our application to submit online. It will be forwarded to my foster mom and she will contact you.
