Check out our sister brand, Kinship, for vet chat, a nutrition calculator, basic obedience training, and (much) more. So you're never flying solo in this pet parenting thing.
Cuddle up with Beanbag! This sweet senior really really really enjoys being around people - NEEDS to have company in fact. He loves napping next to you while you work yet does not demand to be on your lap. He absolutely yearns for companionship! While on the chonky side at 20 lbs, Beanbag still enjoys morning zoomies and playing with his favorite catnip toys. He likes sleeping with you and does not do well with closed doors. Piecing together his story, Magnificat Rescue pulled him in 2016 during his first stint at ACC. His adopter died and relatives/friends housed him for about a year until he ended up back at the city shelter. Beanbag needs heart meds 2x per day which he easily takes in pill pockets. This sweetheart does everything easy as long as he has lots of human company and you're home most of the time. He is a smart fella and quickly figures out your routine. And when you vary from that routine, he gets anxious as if he is afraid of being abandoned. Beanbag does not like dogs but enjoys being around calm, sweet, Zen-like cats who genuinely enjoy feline company. He is fine around gentle kids who admire but don't pet his tummy. Beanbag with his snaggletooth is such a bundle of affection, the extra TLC he needs is worth it. Beanbag was born around March 2012.

Additional adoption info
Once you've filled out an application, we will contact your references and put you in touch with the foster/caregiver of the cat. Once your application is approved, we schedule you to attend a Zoom group seminar on cat care. We invite both novice and experienced alike to attend. Then you would sign the adoption agreement, pay the adoption fee, and make arrangements for the cat to be moved to your home. We always do a home visit which is both reassuring to the cat when it is being introduced and to the foster who has taken care of the cat. Presently we are doing home visits with FaceTime or Zoom to confirm you have secure windows, no toxic plants and a generally safe environment for a cat. The adoption fee is $150 for one cat under 7 years old, $75 for one cat 7 years and older.
All cats have been tested for the Feline Leukemia and FIV virus, vaccinated (FVRCP and Rabies vaccines), microchipped, dewormed and spayed/neutered. If you adopt kittens that are too young to be altered, we will arrange the spay/neuter/microchip at a later date at a partner vet.
