My personality

My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Location: Lexington, SC
Name: Macey
Age: 3 years
Breed: best guess is bull terrier / husky mix - 45 lbs
M/F: F
Spayed/Neutered/Shots: UTD on rabies, dhpp, heartworm prevention, and is spayed
Good with dogs, cats, and/or kids: good with kids, fine with cats but had to be introduced very very slowly and I never leave her with them unaccompanied, and good with dogs
Aggression or medical issues?: shattered canines that don’t need removal but also leave her vulnerable to defending herself if need be; food protective (with other animals only - never with me even from the beginning) so I feed her separately but again, she physically is unable to do anything about it but no need to create chaos unnecessarily.
Reason for rehoming?: found stray with a litter - puppies found a home but she is still looking
House/crate trained?: yes - kennel/crate is definitely a safe place to her and she likes to nap there even with the door wide open.
Additional info/story (personality):
Loves to play with the other dogs, especially the puppies I take in. LOVES a routine and thrives extremely well off of it so much so that she would most likely not thrive well in a home that doesn’t have a set routine that could be established for her (not saying not to take her on trips or anything, she just really likes things done at a certain time every day likes walks, meal time, crate time, etc.). She was living in the woods on her own for awhile and so when I take her for walks she still likes to follow specific paths she thinks are best. Took me awhile to break her out of her shell upon intake, but she is such a good girl now. Loves playing with all the toys, even the stuffed ones, and rarely tears them up.
Message/comment if interested. Make sure if you message me to include the animal’s name since I have a lot of rescues I am trying to help rehome at the moment. Adoption application & contract required to ensure good home.

Go meet their pets

We are foster based only at this time.
Meet and greets for dogs must be scheduled in advance.
Meet and greets for cats are near impossible normally because we all foster/house both cats and dogs and the dogs "go off" when visitors come over making all the cats hide.

More about this rescue

In service of domestic animals in South Carolina, Frisky Business Rescue is a no-kill rescue that provides vital resources such as veterinary care, birthing assistance, medication, and rehoming or safe release (TNR) to the most vulnerable animals in the region. We specialize in animals with special circumstances that come from various backgrounds, including animal hoarding and abusive situations but primarily focus on vulnerable kittens, puppies, and pregnant/nursing dogs and cats. Before rehoming, we carefully screen new potential families to ensure the needs of our animals are met and that new homes will become furever homes.
