Check out our sister brand, Kinship, for vet chat, a nutrition calculator, basic obedience training, and (much) more. So you're never flying solo in this pet parenting thing.
Say hey to Babes! Babes and her bestie Mabes came to us after being left in a tote outside the shelter door. We believe Babes was born in November of 2017, and would do best in a calmer home with older children or adults only and her bestie Mabes. Babes is a very sweet gal that can be a touch shy at first, but she warms up very quickly and absolutely adores attention! As soon as you pet her, she will start rubbing all over your legs, or rubbing her face on your face while purring up a storm! She also gives frequent head boops, and will make happy biscuits! If no humans are around to pet her, she immediately returns to snuggling with her best friend Mabes. Unfortunately Babes has tested positive for F.I.V. and will need to be kept indoors and be the only kitty in the home, or share her home with other F.I.V. positive kitties. F.I.V. is not contagious to any human or other animals besides cats, and does not require medication of any kind. Babes can't wait to find her forever home with her best friend Mabes!
All pets adopted from the Humane Society of Freeborn County will be spayed or neutered, up to date on age appropriate vaccinations, testing and will be microchipped. All of this is included in their adoption fee. Fill out an application to adopt at freeborncountyhs.org
When transitioning your new pet home please allow for at least 4-6 weeks for your pet to adjust to their new home. They will need this time to decompress, and adjust to a new routine and environment. During that time we will provide check ins and counseling to ensure a successful transition.
Please review all basic adoption requirements listed on our website before applying. We take finding the right homes for the animals in our care very seriously. They deserve nothing but the best! Please allow 2-7 days for applications to be processed.
If an animal is listed in foster care, these pets are not at our facility, but are in foster care homes. They are still available for adoption, and meet and greets are done with pre-approved applicants only.
If you have any questions feel free to send us an email at freeborncohumanesociety@gmail.com, send us a message on Facebook, or call or text 507-377-8501.
