My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Courtesy Post - this is not a Resilient Dog Rescue Dog. We are assisting owner with rehoming.

Hello! My name is Remi Rae and I’m a handsome, easy-going guy. Although I often look quite serious in my photos, I have a silly side and happily indulge my foster mom when she makes me bear the indignity of wearing costumes and clothes. Also, I’m the best wiggle butt greeter there is!

Quick Facts:
My foster mom did my DNA and I am:
21.6% American Staffordshire Terrier
21.6% American Bully
7.8% Labrador Retriever
7.2% American Bulldog
4.8% Border Collie
Gender: Male
Age: 2 ½ years old (a/o Dec 2023)
Size: 75 pounds

Good with dogs: I need to work on my socialization skills. I live with my sister but she and I have been butting heads for a while. My Mom and Dad split up, and we're having a hard time.

Good with cats: I have never been around a cat but if they are anything like a squirrel, I would probably chase them

Good with kids: I have been around kids older than 12 years and I did great with them. I have never been around any younger kids.

History: My mom adopted me from Front Street Animal Shelter in July of 2022. My sister and I were found on the streets and brought in together.

Personality: I’m a pretty mellow guy. My day starts about 6 am when Grandma feeds me breakfast. I like kibble with wet food and a little cottage cheese mixed in. Then she makes me rest for an hour before I can go outside to do my business.
I enjoy a good walk but I like to pull and sometimes I bark at other dogs. I need some work on that.

I can sit and laydown and I’m really good at coming in the house when my name is called. I love these cookies that my mom buys. I like to take them to my bed and munch them up. Sometimes my mom will give me a chip or a piece of popcorn but I don’t understand how to eat them. I just put them in my mouth but then I drop them because they are weird. I would rather a piece of salami or a piece of cheese.

When we play outside in the backyard, I prefer frisbees over balls. I have a fascination with the water hose. Sometimes when my mom waters the trees I try and eat the water that squirts out. After we play for a while, I like to lay in the sun on my Kuranda bed. My Grandma makes me come in and take a nap during the day which is great because I love to nap on the couch or on my dog bed.

I eat dinner around 5 pm and my mom, again, makes me wait an hour before I can go outside to do my business. Something about me running around with food in belly and my stomach twisting? I dunno, she said it’s for my own good so I just listen to her.

In the evening we usually lounge on the couch and watch T.V. My mom will rub my belly which I LOVE! She’s a good belly rubber. After that it’s time for bed on my dog bed. I have not been crate trained but I like my dog bed.

Favorite Activities:
• Eating
• Running Around the Yard
• Going for Walks
• Napping
• Getting Belly Rubs

I am looking for a new home because my sister and I just don’t get along anymore. I am the more mellow of the two of us. She is high strung and just gets on my nerves so we have had a few spats. I don’t want to fight with her anymore and since I am so easy going my mom thinks it would be easier to find me a quiet, loving home than to find my sister another home.

If you're looking for an easy-going, loving guy who just wants some peace and quiet and a warm, safe place to lay his head - oh, and maybe a belly rub from time to time - then I’m your guy!

Additional adoption info

Our multi-step adoption process includes an application, meet and greet, animal introductions when applicable, and a home check. We highly value the time and effort put into adoption applications, and encourage thorough, thoughtful responses as this is our primary avenue for getting to know your family. With that in mind, please be aware that applications with excessive blank or one-word responses may not be considered.

Animal introductions will be done for each pet currently living in the household. While we are not here to judge your lifestyles, we also conduct home checks to ensure that the household and backyard will be a safe living environment for a SacRDR dog. The Declaration page of your Homeowners Insurance policy or an approval letter from your landlord must be submitted with your adoption application; these documents are required to ensure that your HOI or landlord covers/accepts the breed you are applying to adopt.

If you have any additional questions, please email adopt@sacrdr.org.
