My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Mayflower is a long haired beauty who was found as an older kitten at a cat colony with no mom or siblings in sight. She is a very independent gal who will coexist with other cats and mellow dogs, but would also be fine as a solo with her own person there to feed her, pet her, brush her, and give her toys. It took a year and a half for Mayflower’s foster to be able to pet her without food or treats, so her adopter must understand it may take some time before she will allow petting. But once she’s comfortable with you, she will often come to you for love and sit and stare at you when she wants more. While she hates being picked up, she does like to hang out with you by laying next to or near you but never on you. Her foster often refers to her as MayMay the fuzzy muppet because she is quite the character. And just check out her fluffy tail! Mayflower was born around 06/16/2022.

Additional adoption info

Once you've filled out an application, we will contact your references and put you in touch with the foster/caregiver of the cat. Once your application is approved, we schedule you to attend a Zoom group seminar on cat care. We invite both novice and experienced alike to attend. Then you would sign the adoption agreement, pay the adoption fee, and make arrangements for the cat to be moved to your home. We always do a home visit which is both reassuring to the cat when it is being introduced and to the foster who has taken care of the cat. Presently we are doing home visits with FaceTime or Zoom to confirm you have secure windows, no toxic plants and a generally safe environment for a cat. The adoption fee is $150 for one cat under 7 years old, $75 for one cat 7 years and older.

All cats have been tested for the Feline Leukemia and FIV virus, vaccinated (FVRCP and Rabies vaccines), microchipped, dewormed and spayed/neutered. If you adopt kittens that are too young to be altered, we will arrange the spay/neuter/microchip at a later date at a partner vet.
