My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hello, I'm KJ.
I'm a pretty laid-back guy, you know? I'm not one for rushing into things. It takes me a little while to get used to new faces, but once I do, I'm your friend for life. I''ve got a lot of life and love left to give. I love a good romp in the play yard! I've been known to chase my tail and play with the squeaky toys. It's the simple joys that make my tail wag. When we go for walks, I will do my best to stay by your side, enjoying the journey with you. I can be your companion on quiet nights in or your partner in crime on outdoor adventures. I'm looking for a family who can appreciate my vibes and give me the time I need to adjust. In return, I promise to be a loyal, loving companion.

More about this shelter

The Allegany County Animal Shelter serves as the municipal shelter for Allegany County and is located at 716 Furnace Street in Cumberland. For many years, the shelter served as the final destination for nearly 85% of the animals that entered it. In late 2010, a group of passionate citizens led the charge to change the nature of the shelter with a goal of doing as much as possible for every animal, every day. It was the first step on the journey to becoming A Shelter of Hope.
