My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Boo, Located in Bloomsburg PA. She is an 11 month old, 30 pound sweetheart; spayed and up to date on vaccines. She came to ASF after spending her first 10 months of life in an Amish puppy mill in NW PA. Had it not been for a great, local nonprofit shelter’s work convincing the breeder to surrender her, she would have been shot.

With their shelter already at full capacity, they reached out to ASF for help. We don’t know exactly what this little girl went thru in her first 10 months of life, but I am certain that none of it was good. She came to us completely feral, filthy, and terrified of people (especially men). With a lot of patience and love, Boo has blossomed into a very happy girl; learning how to live the life a puppy should live. She still has moments when she seems to remember that humans can’t always be trusted, but with gentle coaxing, the happy & loving Boo returns.

She has made great progress with potty training but still has a long way to go. She consistently goes outside now, but has not mastered emptying her bowels. Patience and lots of potty breaks will be needed. She also easily wears doggy diapers and is crate trained. This sweet girl loves to snuggle and gives lots of gentle kisses to let you know she appreciates you. She’s very smart, has learned basic commands and is learning how to heel on leash.

She is extremely athletic and would probably excel at agility training, but also equally good at just ‘chillin’. She is fine with cats and loves other dogs. She can play rough; so a larger dog, or equally playful siblings would make for a great match in a multi-pet household. This girl is a true diamond in the rough.
