Meet Winston! This little Yorkie mix was surrendered today when his owners couldn’t care for him. When we arrived to pick him up their just opened their door and let him run down a busy street, as they clearly did all the time, no collar or leash without even trying to call or catch him until he got about a block away and didn’t come right back 🤦‍♀️. They didn’t know how old he was but according to his microchip that was implanted at a Midwest puppy mill broker he’s about 10 years old. Partially bald from flea allergies and the hair that he does have matted, rotted teeth, all the usual stuff we see every day around here 😔. Winston is a sweet little 9lb guy, good with other dogs and seems good-natured and will be a lovely little companion for a responsible home where he’s actually wanted. He’s at our vet getting “the works” and a dental, at least was previously neutered, and will be ready for a home very soon!

Since COVID-19, we are no longer holding our Sunday adoption events until further notice, but we are scheduling meet and greet appointments with a specific dog or dogs at our meeting spots in Northern NJ. Please check your email regularly for next steps. All our dogs reside in foster care in Northern NJ until adoption and we do not have a central shelter location. We are a small all-volunteer organization focused on rescuing local dogs from area shelters, as well as accepting some surrenders and puppy mill rescues.
