My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Greetings, I'm Sadie!
I'm an adult dog with a heart full of love and a spirit full of play. I'm sweet as honey, friendly as a summer day, and playful as a puppy. Energy? I've got plenty to spare! Smart? You bet! I know all the basic commands, and I'm eager to learn more. Fetch is my absolute favorite game. But don't let my energetic side fool you, I'm also a cuddle bug who loves snuggling up for some quality time. Oh, and I must mention my fascination with cats. They're intriguing creatures, don't you think? I've been waiting patiently for my forever home watching my fellow shelter friends come and go. If you're looking for a loyal friend who will always be by your side, I'm your girl. Adopt me and let's start our adventure together!

More about this shelter

The Allegany County Animal Shelter serves as the municipal shelter for Allegany County and is located at 716 Furnace Street in Cumberland. For many years, the shelter served as the final destination for nearly 85% of the animals that entered it. In late 2010, a group of passionate citizens led the charge to change the nature of the shelter with a goal of doing as much as possible for every animal, every day. It was the first step on the journey to becoming A Shelter of Hope.
