Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Popcorn is a super sweet girl that we rescued from a shelter in Los Angeles the day she was due to be euthanized. Sadly, the shelters in Southern CA are so crowded that euthanizing wonderful dogs like Popcorn to create kennel space is a very common practice. It is absolutely terrible. When we went to get Popcorn spayed upon picking her up from the shelter, the vet said that he could not spay her due to her bowels being impacted. We ended up taking Popcorn to our private vet where they performed a spay, and an obsitution surgery where they cleared out her colon. Luckily, it was an easy fix and Popcorn recovered super quickly. However, because of this, our vet recommends that Popcorn take a daily low dose of a laxative to help her easily pass stool. Although Popcorn has gone without meds for weeks at a time, we have noticed that she does much better with the meds. As long as she has consistent bathroom breaks to count on, Popcorn is beyond fine. We do also recommend a high fiber diet which can help with healthy bowel movements. Popcorn's issue is really totally manageable in a home. Unfortunately she has been in Boarding, while we search for a Foster. She would LOVE a foster home. Popcorn is chill with dogs. On walks, she does not pull. She listens to commands and she is non-reactive. Although we have not had the opportunity to cat test her, Popcorn does not react to small animals on her walks, such as bunnies. She would love a family and a home with a yard for the holidays. Popcorn is adorable and she will make her future family SO happy!! Popcorn is currently boarding in Philomath with NK9 Academy.
