Peggy is a 9 yr old female spayed Chihuahua mix. She initially came into our rescue several years ago from a hoarder situation with several other dogs that looked almost identical to her. She was adopted out in 2019 into what was supposed to be her forever home. We are sad to say she was returned at no fault of her own when her owner suffered medical issues. She misses her owner immensely and doesn’t understand why they can’t be together.
Peggy is crate trained and prefers to go outside to potty but will use a pee pad as well. If there are no pee pads down she will go on the floor by the door if she has to go. Once let out of her crate she makes a beeline for the back door to go outside to potty. If you don’t follow her to open the door she will pee on the floor.
When we got her back she only had 2 teeth left in her mouth and they were both badly infected. She had difficulty eating and was underweight. We have since pulled those teeth and treated the infection and she is so much happier. She’s eating like a champ and is putting on some weight.
Peggy is the sweetest girl that just wants a quiet home with lots of soft beds and warm blankets to snuggle under. She does great with other dogs and just minds her own business. She does not like it when the foster’s dogs bark and starts pacing looking for an escape route to get away from the noise. She needs an escape proof yard or needs to be leash walked. She will wander off if not contained or leashed. If you have a quiet home and want to share your life with this precious soul please fill out an application.
